CAD Integration
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - CAD Integration
What is Prepared’s CAD Integration?
Prepared integrates with Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems to enhance communication and streamline incident management for emergency call centers. This integration allows real-time data sharing, incident matching, and improved workflow automation between Prepared and supported CAD vendors.
Which CAD systems are currently supported by Prepared?
Prepared currently supports the following CAD vendors:
Hexagon
365 Labs
Southern Software
EDC (Emerging Digital Concepts) - Not technically a CAD but offers similar capabilities.
Note: Integration with these CAD systems does not imply a formal partnership with the vendor.
How can I request a CAD integration with Prepared?
If you're interested in integrating Prepared with your CAD system, please contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM). The CSM will guide you through the process, including gathering details on your CAD vendor and evaluating integration feasibility.
What happens if my CAD is not supported?
If your CAD system is not currently supported, Prepared will assess whether integration is feasible. Your CSM will work with you to gather the necessary details and engage with our engineering team to determine the next steps.
Can I proceed with a CAD integration without approval from Product & Engineering (PDE)?
Integrations can only proceed without PDE approval if the CAD vendor is already supported and if you have accepted Prepared’s API capabilities as-is. If any changes or additional features are needed, PDE approval is required.
Why might a CAD integration be delayed or declined?
Integrations may be delayed or declined for various reasons, including:
The CAD vendor may not support the full incident lifecycle required by Prepared.
Requested features may require new development and prioritization.
The CAD vendor may lack the necessary resources for the integration.
What should I do if I have already signed an integration agreement with a CAD vendor without Prepared's approval?
If you've already signed an integration agreement, please contact your CSM immediately. They will work with you to determine the feasibility of the integration and help you navigate the next steps.
How long will it take for my CAD integration to be completed?
The timeline for your CAD integration will depend on:
The responsiveness of your CAD vendor.
The complexity of the integration and any additional development required.
The availability of our engineering team.
Your CSM will provide updates throughout the process.
Will Prepared charge for CAD integrations?
At this time, Prepared does not charge for CAD integrations. However, this policy may change in the future, and your CSM will keep you informed.
What features does Prepared’s CAD integration support?
Prepared’s CAD integration supports several features, including:
Incident matching
Incident metadata updates
CAD note creation (both triggered by CAD and Prepared)
Location updates
For a complete list of supported features, please consult your CSM.
Can Prepared create a CAD incident automatically?
Currently, Prepared does not support the automatic creation of CAD incidents. However, this may be something we explore in the future.
Can Prepared automatically share insights or links with the CAD system?
At this time, Prepared does not support the automatic sharing of insights or media links with CAD incidents. Manual action is required from the calltaker to trigger these updates.
Where can I get more information?
If you're interested in exploring CAD integration further, please contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) for more details and personalized assistance.
