Quick Start Guide: Managing Incidents

Overview

This guide covers the core incident workflows, including creating new incidents, requesting media, transferring incidents, and resolving incidents.


Prerequisites

Dispatcher or Supervisor role.
✅ Active Prepared Assist login.


Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Create a New Incident

  1. Click New Incident from the dashboard.

  2. Enter caller’s phone number and select the incident type (nature code).

  3. Click Create.

2. Request Caller Media (Photo, Video, Live Stream)

  1. Inside an active incident, click Request Media.

  2. Choose Photo, Video, or Live Stream.

  3. The caller will receive a secure link to respond.

  4. Media will automatically appear in the incident once uploaded.

3. Transfer an Incident to Another PSAP

  1. In the incident view, click Transfer Incident.

  2. Select the receiving agency from the list.

  3. Confirm the transfer.

4. Resolve an Incident

  1. When the incident is complete, click Resolve Incident.

  2. Enter resolution notes if required.

  3. Click Confirm.
