Overview

Default Messages are pre-written, approved text messages available for dispatchers to send during live incidents. These messages improve response times, ensure consistent communication, and reduce errors.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Access Default Messages

  • From the Dashboard, click Settings.

  • Click Default Messages in the left navigation.

2. Review Existing Messages

  • Review the list of available default messages.

  • These messages cover common requests like:

    • Location sharing.

    • Sending photos or videos.

    • Confirming emergency type.

3. Add or Edit Messages

  • To edit, click the Edit icon.

    • Modify the text, and if applicable, assign a nature code.

    • Click Save.

  • To add, click Add Default Message.

    • Enter the message text.

    • Assign a nature code (optional).

    • Click Save.

  • Keep messages short, clear, and action-oriented.

  • Use plain language and avoid technical jargon.

  • Review messages quarterly to ensure they match current procedures.
