Overview

Canned Messages are pre-written messages dispatchers can quickly send to callers during live incidents. These messages ensure faster response times and consistent communication.


Prerequisites

Supervisor or Administrator role required.


Step-by-Step Instructions

Accessing Canned Messages

  1. From the Dashboard, click Settings.

  2. In the left menu, click Canned Messages.

Editing Default Messages

  1. Locate a message under Default Messages.

  2. Click Edit to modify the text or assign a nature code (e.g., “911 Hang Up”).

  3. Click Save Changes.

Creating a New Message

  1. Click Add Canned Message.

  2. Enter a name and the message content.

  3. Assign a nature code (optional).

  4. Preview your message and click Add Message.


Using Canned Messages in Incidents

  1. Open an active incident.

  2. Click Send Message and select from your canned messages list.
