Configure a Dedicated Return Line

When ANET transfers a call back to the PSAP, it must route to a dedicated number.

This number:

  • Must not forward back to ANET

  • Must not be the original forwarded number

  • Must terminate inside your telephony system

How to Configure Return Line (Step-by-Step)

  1. Create or designate internal line for ANET returns.

  2. Confirm that this number:

    • Does not have forwarding rules

    • Routes directly to call-takers

  3. Validate with carrier or PBX admin.

  4. Place controlled test transfer.

  5. Confirm:

    • Call arrives on correct internal queue

    • No re-forward occurs

Using the forwarded non-emergency number as the return line will create loops.
